Race Day Info
On Saturday, April 28, runners and walkers will gather at Memorial City Mall, outside JC Penny, to participate in Spring Branch Education Foundation’s 20th annual Running for the Arts (RFA). This year’s goal is 2012 participants in 2012!
“Running for the Arts has developed into a community festival,” says LaSondra Frenza, who is chairing the event for the second year. “We’ll have music, children’s activities, an after-race party, and much more! We’re celebrating the 20th anniversary of Running for the Arts, so it’s not to be missed!
“This year, we’re adding something new. Student runners will have an opportunity to solicit running sponsorships from friends and family members. Top fundraisers – one in elementary and one in secondary schools – will win an iPad. As students collect sponsorships in $50 increments, they will earn raffle tickets for a drawing for an iTouch Nano, again one at the elementary and one at the secondary level.”
